uWatts

What are uWatts?

uWatts are digital assets that represent fractional ownership over a Reserve of clean energy projects. Think of it as a pool where Suno deposits several of its top projects so you can participate in all of them at once.

This allows you to diversify your investments, reduce your risk exposure, and access greater liquidity.

What is the Project Reserve?

The Reserve is a portfolio of projects that are fully operational and generating energy. This Reserve backs the issuance of uWatts, and all the projects within it generate returns for uWatt holders. What is the minimum amount to buy uWatts?

To participate in the Reserve through uWatts, you can start with as little as $1 USD.

What payment methods can I use?

You can currently participate in Suno using virtual banking channels, debit cards, or stable digital currencies (stablecoins) such as COPM, USDC, and USDT. We offer flexible options so you can invest however you prefer.

Where does the income from uWatts come from?

Net profits for uWatt holders come from the pooled net revenue of operational projects, minus:

  • Depreciation costs of the underlying assets

  • Allocations for liquidity pool incentives

Why the additional deductions for uWatts?

uWatts represent a diversified and liquid yield layer backed by multiple projects rather than a single asset. To maintain this liquidity and long-term stability and value of the uWatt token, the protocol sets aside funds to account for asset depreciation and to fuel incentive pools that drive DeFi integrations and secondary market activity.

How do I receive these earnings?

Your earnings are paid in digital dollars to your Unergy account. You can use them to invest in new projects and increase your participation, or withdraw them directly to your bank account through the app.

How often do I receive uWatt earnings?

Earnings distributions will appear in your account whenever revenue is generated from energy sales by the projects in the Reserve.

What can I do with my earnings?

One of the key benefits of earning returns from sustainable projects is the power of compound interest. You can reinvest your earnings to purchase more uWatts and increase your participation, use them to buy pWatts to support the creation of new clean energy assets, or simply withdraw your digital dollars.

What are the transaction costs?

Suno does not charge fees for your transactions; any costs are charged by the bank or payment provider you choose when buying our digital assets. Keep in mind that if you purchase uWatts through a decentralized exchange like Uniswap or via our dApp, you will need POL or CELO in your wallet to cover the network transaction fees of the blockchain you’re using.

How are uWatts created?

uWatts are created when holders of pWatts from an operational project contribute those pWatts to the Reserve. The number of uWatts minted is based on the Net Present Value (NPV) of the underlying project — typically 15% to 25% higher than its original installation cost. After deducting a 2% protocol fee, the newly minted uWatts are transferred to the user who contributed the pWatts.

A more detailed explanation of this mechanism is available here.

Can I convert my uWatts back into pWatts?

No — the pWatt → uWatt conversion is one-way only.

Once you exchange your pWatts for uWatts, the original pWatts are permanently locked in the Reserve, where they continue to generate yield for all uWatt holders. This design ensures the integrity and backing of the uWatt token, which depends on a growing pool of operational assets.

If you want exposure to a specific new project again, you'll need to acquire new pWatts during upcoming fundraising rounds.

What is the reference price of the uWatt?

The reference price of a uWatt reflects its intrinsic value, calculated based on the Reserve’s expected future cash flows — rather than its construction or operational costs — divided by the total number of uWatts in circulation.

However, the market price of a uWatt may differ from this reference price due to supply and demand in secondary markets.

Returns are distributed proportionally based on the number of uWatts you hold, not the price you paid. As a result, your effective yield may vary depending on the market price at which you acquired your uWatts.
